QUEST Fall Semester 2011 Entry #20: "The Strength"

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10
The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is with us and will act on our behalf in strengthening us and helping us. In Isaiah 41:10, God declares that He would uphold with His right hand. Such words bring encouragement to the broken heart and strength to the weary soul. But, this reference of Scripture does not say that we will not go through trouble or tough circumstances. Scriptures do not promise that our lives will be devoid of problems and trials. However, the Word of God does submit to us that God is ready, willing and able to strengthen and help us during every season.

As you proceed in this semester, it is important to always be open to difficult times. We do not necessarily welcome it or like it, but trials have a way of strengthen areas of our lives that we tend to ignore or not pay much attention to. Trials provide the opportunity to depend on God and not ourselves. But, as with many things, this is easier said than done. It sounds good, but when you go through, as Bishop Joseph Garlington would say, the hallway of hell, it is not pleasant. Whatever it may be, know that God offers Himself as Your Strength. You don't have to be the strong one or always rock solid; God says that He is the Rock of Our Salvation. See the pattern...

This weekend, QUEST/YAM is excited to welcome Fresh Fire to the Christ Church East Campus (68 Church Street, Montclair, NJ) at 9:30 PM for their EP release. I mention this in our blog today because this concert is a great opportunity for fellowship and receiving ministry that reminds us of God's strength. The concert is only $5 and I welcome you to join us. Helen Rodriguez and Datin will also be a part of this concert. As you start this weekend, remember, GOD is THE STRENGTH.
